This research explores the evolving environments of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management among Korean companies, with a focus on analyzing successful implementations in various industries. The study aims to provide insights into how these companies have integrated ESG principles into their business strategies, overcoming challenges and leveraging opportunities to enhance their long-term sustainability and competitiveness. The primary objective of this research is to analyze the changes in ESG management practices among Korean companies, particularly focusing on cases where companies have successfully implemented ESG strategies. This analysis seeks to highlight the strategic approaches adopted by these companies to align with global ESG trends while addressing the unique economic and social challenges within Korea. The research employs a case study methodology, examining prominent Korean companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG Chem, Hyundai Motor Group, SK Hynix, and POSCO. Data were collected through a combination of public reports, sustainability disclosures, business reports and audit reports. The analysis focuses on the environmental, social, and governance initiatives undertaken by these companies, assessing their impact on corporate performance and stakeholder engagement. The findings indicate that Korean companies have made significant progress in ESG management, particularly in areas such as sustainable production, carbon neutrality, and social responsibility. Companies like Samsung Electronics and LG Chem have led the way in integrating renewable energy and sustainable materials into their operations. Hyundai Motor Group has pioneered in sustainable mobility with its focus on electric and hydrogen vehicles. SK Hynix and POSCO have also shown strong commitments to reducing their environmental impact through innovative technologies and sustainable practices. The research concludes that effective ESG management is crucial for long-term business resilience and competitiveness. The successful examples of Korean companies demonstrate that ESG integration can drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and improve corporate reputation. The study suggests that other companies can benefit from adopting similar strategies to navigate the complexities of ESG management and contribute to sustainable development.
