특허 정보를 활용한 지역 유망 기술 도출: 인천 지역 바이오 산업을 중심으로

This study proposes a scientific methodology for regional technology strategy development by identifying emerging technologies through the analysis of patent information. Given the resource constraints often encountered by regions, it is essential to establish evidence-based strategies for efficient R&D planning. To overcome the limitations of previous research, we applied a combined approach utilizing topic modeling and CPC network analysis techniques, while also enhancing the reliability of our findings through validation by relevant experts. The results of our analysis identified key emerging technologies in the bio industry of Incheon, specifically in fields such as anti-cancer therapies, food, and biosimilars. These technology areas are currently in high demand on a global scale and are closely aligned with the strategic industrial infrastructure of Incheon. The findings of this study are expected to support the development of regional technology strategies and science and technology policies based on scientific evidence. Furthermore, the proposed methodology provides a practical framework for identifying emerging regional technologies, which can be adapted for use in other regions facing similar challenges. This framework not only facilitates informed decision-making for policymakers but also provides a systematic approach for regions aiming to enhance their technological competitiveness and innovation capabilities in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
