This study intends to test the effect of low self-control on cybercrime. and constructs a integrated model which is based on theory of differential social control empathizing a role-taking process. This model includes low self-control, relationships with parents and peers and school activity, and online macro culture favorable to law violation, which affects association with violators and role-taking factors such as reflected appraisal of self, the expected others’ reaction, and attitude toward law violation which result in cybercriminal behaviors. Analyzing data from college students in Seoul, results show that low self control has a significant effect on association with violators which directly cybercrime and indirectly cybercrime through attitude toward law violation among role-taking factors. However, the effects of social relationships and school activity on role-taking process is low. It is shown that both reflected appraisal of self and the expected others’ reaction among three role-taking factors such as reflected appraisal of self, the expected others’ reaction, and attitude toward law violation, have no significant effect on cybercrime even though attitude toward law violation has a significant effect on it. Overall, this study partially support this integrated model.
