본 연구는 GenAI 사용 여부와 디자인 전공 여부에 따른 디자인 시나리오 제작 과정을 비교하여 효과적인 GenAI 활용방안을 탐색하는데 목적이 있 다. 연구방법은 참가자들을 3팀으로 나누어 디자인 시나리오를 제작하게 하 고, 집단 심층 면접(Focus Group Interviews, 이하 FGI)을 통해 디자인 시 나리오 제작 과정을 논의하였다. 이후 수집한 발화 데이터는 프레임워크 분 석 방법(Framework Analysis Method, 이하 FAM)으로 분석하여 주제별로 범주화하고 인사이트를 도출하였다. 연구 결과, GenAI는 초기 작업에서 빠 르고 다양한 결과물을 제공하여 효율적이지만, 차별화된 결과물을 위해 사 람이 개입하여 결과물을 구체화하는 과정이 필수적이었다. 또한 디자인 전 공자(DM)는 편집의 자유도가 높은 툴을 선호하는 반면, 디자인 비전공자 (NDM)는 GenAI 의존도가 높았다. 이러한 결과는 조형 디자인 경험의 유 무가 스토리보드 제작 방식에 영향을 미친다는 점을 시사한다. 본 연구는 디자인 시나리오 제작에서 GenAI의 활용 가능성을 제시하고, 디자인 역량 에 따른 효과적인 GenAI 활용 방안을 제안하고자 한다.
Abstract
This study explores effective ways to utilize GenAI in the design scenario production process by comparing it based on GenAI usage and design major status. Participants were divided into three teams to create design scenarios, and Focus Group Interviews (FGI) were conducted to discuss the process. The speech data was analyzed using the Framework Analysis Method (FAM) and categorized into themes to derive insights. The results showed that while GenAI was efficient in producing fast and diverse outputs in the initial stages, human intervention was essential for refining the outcomes to achieve differentiated results. Additionally, design majors (DM) preferred tools with a higher degree of editing flexibility, whereas non-design majors (NDM) demonstrated a higher reliance on GenAI. These findings suggest that the presence or absence of formative design experience significantly impacts the storyboard production process. This study highlights the potential of GenAI in design scenario production and proposes strategies for effective utilization based on varying levels of design expertise.
