커뮤니티 공간으로서의 새로운 주민센터 공간 디자인 방향에 관한 연구 -사용자 경험 디자인을 중심으로-

(연구 배경 및 목적) 주민센터는 지역민들의 복지와 문화생활의 욕구를 충족하는 대표적인 공공공간이며, 지역 주민의 커뮤니티 장이기 때문에 변화하는 라이프스타일과 사용자들의 니즈(Needs)가 공간에 반영되어야 한다. 하지만 현재의 주민센터는 이를 고려하지 않은 채 획일적이고 일률적인 공간 계획이 반복되고 있어 커뮤니티 공간으로서의 활용성과 효율성을 떨어뜨리고 있다. 따라서 주민센터를 더 다양하고 많은 사용자들이 모이는 커뮤니티 공간으로서 활성화시키려면 사용자 경험 디자인의 관점에서 접근하는 것이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 현재 운영 중인 주민센터의 현황을 비교 분석함으로써 문제점 파악 및 개선점을 찾아 향후 커뮤니티 공간으로서의 새로운 주민센터 공간 디자인의 방향에 기여하고자 한다. (연구 방법) 먼저 주민센터와 사용자 경험 디자인의 이론적 고찰을 통해 중요성을 파악하고, 주민센터에서 나타나는 사용자 경험 디자인 특성을 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 주민센터 현황 분석을 진행하였으며 범위는 서울특별시 중, 건물의 연식이 17년 이상 차이 나는 주민센터 여덟 곳을 비교 분석하였다. (결과) 연구 결과 2000년 이전에 지어진 주민센터 네 곳과, 2017년 이후에 지어진 주민센터 네 곳에서 나타난 사용자 경험 특성은 명확히 다른 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 최근에 지어진 주민센터일수록, 여가·문화 영역의 비중이 커지는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 경험 디자인 특성이 더욱 적극적으로 나타나는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. (결론) 현황 분석을 토대로 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 설문조사 결과는 주민센터 내 커뮤니티 프로그램 및 공간의 필요성을 확인하게 해주었다. 둘째, 시간의 흐름에 따라 여가·문화 영역의 비중이 증가하고 있음을 알 수 있었고, 주민센터의 공간 비중이 변화하고 있음을 발견했다. 셋째, 최근에 지어진 주민센터일수록 경험 디자인 특성이 활발하게 나타나고 있으며, 정보성’,‘편의성’,‘상호작용성’이 중요한 요소로 반영되어야 함을 확인했다. 본 연구가 기초자료로 활용되어 향후 주민센터 공간 디자인에 대한 후속 연구가 활발히 이어지기를 기대한다.
Abstract
(Background and Purpose) The community center is a representative public space that meets the needs of local residents’ welfare and cultural life. Since it is a community venue for local residents, the changing lifestyle and users' needs should be reflected in the space. However, the current community center does not consider this and repeats uniform space plans, thus reducing its usability and efficiency as a community space. Consequently, it is necessary to approach the community center from the perspective of user experience design to activate it as a community space where more diverse users gather. This study contributes to the direction of a new community center spatial design as a community space in the future by identifying problems and improving them by comparing and analyzing the current status of the community center. (Method) First, the importance of community centers and user experience design was identified through theoretical considerations, and the user experience design characteristics of community centers were derived. Based on this, the current status of community centers was analyzed, and the scope was a comparative analysis of 8 community centers in Seoul with a building age difference of more than 17 years. (Results) The results showed that the user experience characteristics of the four community centers built before 2000 and four community centers built after 2017 were different. The more recently built the community centers, the greater the proportion of leisure and cultural areas, and the more active the experience design characteristics. (Conclusions) First, the survey results confirmed the need for community programs and spaces at community centers. Second, the proportion of spatial areas of community centers changed over time. Third, the more recently built the community centers, the more active the characteristics of experience design. Lastly, for the community center to develop as a community space, user experience design characteristics must be reflected in the space, and particularly, “information,” “convenience,” and “interactivity” must be actively displayed. We hope that this study will be used as basic data, and that active follow-up research on community center space design as a community space will continue in the future.
