이차전지 분야에서 인공지능(AI) 기술 적용 패러다임 분석:BERTopic 모델을 활용한 특허 데이터 텍스트 마이닝 연구

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is driving technological innovation across various industries. In the field of secondary batteries, AI technology is opening up new possibilities beyond existing technical limitations and redefining the paradigm of technological development. However, trend analysis on the utilization of AI technology in secondary battery technology development remains insufficient. Therefore, this study empirically analyzes trends in AI technology application within the secondary battery field. In this study, we collected and analyzed 10,016 patents related to AI technology in the secondary battery field, filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) from 2006 to 2023. Using BERTopic, a topic modeling technique, 27 major topics were identified, and specific topics where patent applications have increased dramatically due to AI technology were highlighted. Notably, the application of AI technology in areas such as Topic 0 (AI-based optimization of lithium-ion battery materials) and Topic 1 (battery charging systems and energy status monitoring) was particularly prominent. This study provides a detailed breakdown of how AI technology fosters technological innovation in the field of secondary batteries, offering a foundational resource for the establishment of R&D strategies in this field.
