학부 법학 교육의 위기와 대안 : 법학과 현황 분석과 발전 방향을 중심으로

In the past, undergraduate students majoring in law could be referred to as ‘college of law’ students. This is because there were many universities where the law major belong to ‘the college of law’ However, now it is not common for universities to maintain the law ‘college’. Once law school system was introduced in Korea, many ‘law colleges’ were changed to law schools, and now only about 10 of the universities that are not permitted to change ‘law colleges’ to ‘law schools’ still remain under the name of ‘college of laws’ In addition, universities that have maintained the name of ‘college of law and politics’ for a long time have recently changed the name of the college to ‘college of public services’. ‘Department of laws’ are under that kind of transformed colleges. Therefore, there is a difficulty in whether the term to be used in the main section below should be called ‘college of law’ or ‘undergraduate law’ or ‘faculty of law’. If I simply refer to it as ‘law deparment’, then there could be many ‘law department’ such as ‘graduate law department’ or ‘school of law department’. So there would be some necessity to exactly name the ‘undergraduate organization that endows the law bachelor degree’ In this paper, the words ‘undergraduate law department’ or ‘faculty of law’ were mainly used. First of all, let’s look at the current status of the ‘undergraduate law department’. In addition, this paper discussed the undergraduate law education of the law department of the non law school established universities and the undergraduate law education at the law school established universities. Prior to that, an analysis was conducted on the current status of law departments nationwide.
