무역원활화 수준이 한국 수입에 미치는 영향

The purpose of this study is to measure OECD member countries’ trade facilitation from 2010 to 2019 using a gravity model and examine the effect of the trade facilitation on South Korea’s imports through analysis. First, four trade facilitation measurement indicators were selected, trade facilita-tion scores for 38 countries were obtained using principal component analysis, a  gravity model was constructed with seven explanatory variables. Panel data from a total of 35 countries, excluding the Czech Republic and Iceland, were selected, tested using the STATA 17.0 statistical program, and then subjected to ordinary least squares regression analysis. According to the results of the empirical analysis, in addition to geographical distance, which showed a negative(-) effect, trade facilitation levels had the greatest effects on South Korea’s imports, and the remaining explanatory variables showed positive(+) effects. In addition, a regression analysis was conducted with the trade facilitation index set as an independent variable, and it was shown that among the four indicators, Customs Environment had the greatest effect  on South Korea’s imports. Relatively few studies have been conducted on South Korea’s trade facilitation within OECD member countries, and this study relatively has systematicity and originality because it added foreign direct investment stock as an explanatory variable to the four trade facilitation measurement indicators mainly used in previous studies to analyze the effects on imports.
