본 연구는 생성형 AI 이미지 모델, 특히 미드저니와 같은 디퓨전 모델을 활용하여 메이크업 디자인 모티브를 개발하고 이를 교육적으로 활용하는 방안을 탐구하였다. 생성형 AI 기술의 발전은 미용 예술, 특히 메이크업 디자인 분야에서 새로운 창의적 가능성을 제시하며 기회를 제공하고 있다. 이에 따라 텍스트-이미지 방식의 생성형 AI 모델에서 프롬프트 구성과 이미지 생성 방식을 중심으로 AI 디자인 프로세스를 제안하였다. 이 프로세스는 아이디어 발상과 프롬프트 도출, 프롬프트 분류, 프롬프트 정제, 이미지 생성과 프롬프트 반복 수정의 단계를 포함한다. 이를 실제 메이크업 디자인 개발에 적용하여 창의적인 모티브를 생성하였으며, 프롬프트 정제 과정을 통해 창작자의 의도가 효과적으로 반영된 이미지를 얻을 수 있었다. 본 연구는 크게 두 가지 측면에서 중요성을 가진다. 첫째, 프롬프트 정제와 반복적인 수정 과정을 통해 창작자가 원하는 창의적 결과물을 도출할 수 있는 방법론을 구축하였다. 둘째, AI가 생성한 이미지에 대한 법적·윤리적 문제를 고려하여, 이를 단순히 사용하기보다는 창작자가 모티브로 활용해 새로운 디자인을 개발하도록 권장하는 방안을 제시하였다. 이러한 프로세스는 교육적으로 매우 유용하며, AI를 통해 학생들이 기존에 제한된 자료에서 벗어나 창의적 사고를 확장하고, 디자인 작업에서 비판적 사고 능력과 문제 해결 능력을 기를 기회를 제공한다. 연구 결과, AI와의 협업을 통해 창의성을 증진시키는 새로운 디자인 방법론이 제시되었으며, 메이크업 디자인 분야에서 실무적, 교육적 활용 가능성을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 추후 AI와의 협업이 더욱 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 예상되며, 이를 실질적으로 교육과 예술 창작에 적용할 수 있는 방안에 대한 지속적인 연구가 필요하다.
Abstract
This study explores the way to develop makeup design motifs and their educational applications by utilizing generative AI image models, particularly diffusion models such as MidJourney. The advancement of generative AI technology offers new creative possibilities and opportunities in the field of beauty arts, especially makeup design. In this context, this research proposes an AI design process focused on the construction of prompts and image generation methods in text-to-image generative AI models. The proposed process consists of the following stages: idea generation and prompt extraction, prompt categorization, prompt refinement, image generation, and iterative prompt modification. By applying this process to actual makeup design development, creative motifs were generated, and the refinement of prompts allowed for the creation of images that effectively reflected the creator's intentions. This study holds significance in two key aspects. First, it establishes a methodology for deriving creative outputs that align with the creator's vision through prompt refinement and iterative modification. Second, considering the legal and ethical issues related to AI-generated images, it advocates for the use of AI-generated outputs as inspirational motifs rather than direct use, encouraging creators to develop new designs. This process is highly useful in education, enabling students to transcend limited existing resources, expand creative thinking, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in their design work. As a result, the study presents a novel design methodology that enhances creativity through collaboration with AI and confirms its practical and educational applicability in the field of makeup design. This study anticipates that collaboration with AI will play an increasingly important role in the future, and continuous research is needed on practical methods to apply this collaboration to education and artistic creation.
