연세-용운 2023년 서베이 데이터를 활용한 암호화폐 투자자의 경제적 선호 및 인구통계학적 특성에 대한 연구

본 연구에서는 연세-용운 2023년 서베이 자료를 활용하여 한국 암호화폐 투자자의 경제적 선호 및 인구통계학적 특성에 대해 조사하였으며, 주요 결과는다음과 같다. 기존 문헌에서의 결과와 마찬가지로 암호화폐 투자자는 위험기피도가 떨어지며 젊은 남자일 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 해당 서베이자료의 또 다른 중요한 경제적 선호 변수 중 하나인 인내심의 경우, 암호화폐투자여부와 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났는데 이러한 결과는 다양한 뉴스매체에서 우려하는 것처럼 암호화폐 투자자들이 단순한 단타족이 아니라 보다장기적으로 암호화폐 투자에 임하고 있을 가능성을 시사한다. 또한 월 평균 지출액이 많거나, 부업이 있거나, 대기업에 다니거나, 대출금액이 많은 응답자가 암호화폐에 투자할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 우리나라 두 개의주요 정당에 대해 우호적으로 생각하는 응답자가 암호화폐에 투자할 가능성이높은 것으로 나타났는데, 이러한 결과는 암호화폐 투자와 정치적 성향 간의 관계를 보여주는 흥미로운 결과라 할 수 있다.
Abstract
In this study, we utilized the 2023 Yonsei-Yongwoon survey data to investigate the economic preferences and demographic characteristics of cryptocurrency investors in Korea. The main findings are as follows: Similar to the results in existing literature, cryptocurrency investors are likely to be young men with lower risk aversion. However, in terms of patience, another important economic preference variable in the survey data, there was a positive correlation with cryptocurrency investment. This suggests that, contrary to concerns raised by various news media, cryptocurrency investors may not be mere short-term traders but are likely to engage in long-term investment. Additionally, respondents with higher monthly expenditures, side jobs, employment at large corporations, or higher loan amounts were more likely to invest in cryptocurrencies. Finally, respondents who had favorable views towards the two major political parties in Korea were more likely to invest in cryptocurrencies, showing an interesting relationship between cryptocurrency investment and political inclination.
