In light of the increasing rate of divorce among Christian women, this study aims to explore the experiences of Christian women who received Biblical Counseling during a divorce crisis, with the goal of uncovering the essence of their universal experiences within specific situations and structures. The study also seeks to discuss the meaning of Biblical Counseling in offering holistic insights to believers. To achieve this, five female church members who had experienced Biblical Counseling during a divorce crisis were recruited as research participants, and individual in-depth interviews were conducted. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using Giorgi’s phenomenological research method. The analysis identified 313 meaning units from individual situations, with 171 unique meaning units after excluding overlapping content. These units were re-integrated into common meaning units, categorized into 21 subcomponents and 12 components, and finally consolidated into five essences. Christian women who experienced Biblical Counseling during a divorce crisis went through the processes of ‘marriages that began with red flags,’ ‘many hardships in married life,’ and ‘struggling to cope with hardships.’ They also experienced transformative processes of ‘Biblical Counseling during hardship’ and ‘moving towards growth and service.’ Based on these findings, the study highlights the significance of Biblical Counseling in supporting believers in crisis and emphasizes the importance of its wider dissemination.
