탈세계화와 한국 발전모델의 변동

Since the 1980s, the current trend of globalization based on transnational activities of production and finance has been a key driving force that has enabled the capitalist economy to overcome the economic crisis of the previous period and to achieve long-term stable growth. However, as globalization trends show signs of stagnation and regression after the 2008 global financial crisis, discussions about deglobalization or slowbalization are being raised. The recent trend of deglobalization is intertwined with geoeconomic fragmentation in the 2010s, such as spread of the global protectionism trends, the trade conflict and competition for hegemony between the United States and China, and Brexit. This study examines various discussions about deglobalization and explores in what direction the world economy is changing. Also, we attempted to analyze the impact of deglobalization on Korea's growth system and critically evaluate the response of the Korean development model. As a result of the study, although it is difficult to assert deglobalization, the trend of globalization is gradually declining. In addition, the decline of globalization is causing an immediate blow to Korea's development model based on the export-led growth system, and the recent economic and industrial policies of the Korean government(Moon Jae-in and Yoon Seok-yeol governments) does not seem to provide appropriate policy responses.
