ESG경영을 위한 블록체인 활용 사례 및법제적 과제

This study aims to introduce the use cases and review the legal issues of combining ESG management and blockchain, which is becoming a global issue in the upcoming Blockchain 3.0 era. Blockchain technology is actively explored and used for ESG disclosure and paperless contract in the environmental field. In particular, in the case of global ESG disclosure, not only exporters and importers, but also supply chain companies and ESG assessors can participate in the distributed ledger to collect verified ESG data while electronicizing contracts and payments, thereby improving data quality and work efficiency while innovating payment settlement. In terms of social protection, blockchain technology can be used to manage donations and protect whistleblowers. In terms of governance, it can be used to hold electronic shareholder meetings using distributed ledgers and to design and pay performance-based executive compensation based on data from distributed ledgers, such as carbon reduction. This paper concludes with the hope that this research will contribute to enhancing the authenticity of ESG management through blockchain technology and dispel the negative view of blockchain.
