지역 창업생태계 내 대학의 역할은 무엇인가?: 창업친화적 학사제도를 중심으로

This study was conducted to identify the role of universities in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem through a entrepreneurship-friendly academic programs. In line with the government's recent policy of revitalizing the local economy, the connection between universities and the local entrepreneurial ecosystem is being strengthened. The government is responsible for setting and coordinating the overall direction of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, while universities, as another key player in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, are making important contributions to growing entrepreneurial human capital and spreading an entrepreneurial culture. In particular, as the role of an entrepreneurial university is emphasized, universities are responding to these demands through entrepreneurship education. In this study, we analyzed the current state of entrepreneurship education in Korean universities through a literature review and confirmed that the entrepreneurship-friendly academic programs functions as a major support programs for entrepreneurship education. Based on this, we conducted a survey and selected four regional universities with representative characteristics in each region, and collected cases through interviews with the relevant university officials. In particular, we focused on the fact that regional universities are relatively disadvantaged in terms of startup resources and infrastructure compared to universities in the metropolitan area, and sought to discover best practices that exemplify the current state of entrepreneurship education and qualitative growth at regional universities. The collected cases were analysed in depth using the case study method, which is one of the qualitative research methods. This study confirmed that regional universities can spread the entrepreneurial culture on campus by institutionalizing entrepreneurship-related courses and activities. It also suggested that university entrepreneurship education should be conducted in a way that makes students perceive entrepreneurship as an equal future option to employment and effectively utilize the available resources in the local area. This study is expected to provide practical implications for the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the revitalization of the local economy by proposing specific measures for the operation of entrepreneurship education and a entrepreneurship-friendly academic programs at local universities.
