Purpose Predicting business opportunities through the combination of patent and trademark information Methods By applying text mining techniques to analyze the text of trademark and patent documents, technology-business clusters were derived, and then the main contents of each cluster were identified through topic modeling. Subsequently, changes within the industry over time were analyzed to predict business opportunities. Results By applying the proposed methodology, a comparative analysis was conducted between the VR industry before and after 2020, identifying areas with significant business opportunities. Conclusion The feasibility of the methodology proposed in this study was validated using real data from the Virtual Reality industry.
