법교육 경험이 법 준수 행동에 미치는 영향

This study aims to empirically analyze the effects of law-related education experiences in schools and society on citizens' law-abiding behavior. To achieve this, logistic regression analysis was conducted using data from the 2021 Public Legal Awareness Survey by the Korea Legislation Research Institute. The results showed that law-related education experiences in both schools and society have a positive effect on law-abiding behavior. Specifically, individuals who received school-based law-related education were 22.8% more likely to abide by the law compared to those who did not, and those who received community-based law-related education were 27.3% more likely to comply. Additionally, a positive attitude toward the law and an awareness of compliance were also found to be significant factors in promoting law-abiding behavior. On the other hand, legal knowledge and attitudes towards law enforcement did not have a significant impact on law-abiding behavior. These findings suggest that law-related education should shift from merely imparting legal knowledge to fostering positive attitudes and values towards the law. Based on the results of this study's analysis of the effects of law-related education, it is hoped that both school-based and social law-related education will continue to contribute to the development of a rule-of-law society and foster a culture where citizens voluntarily abide by the law.
