The Effects of Entrepreneurship Education on Entrepreneurship Opportunity Recognition and Entrepreneurship Intention - Focusing on University Students Majoring in Food Service Management -

This study aims to present the effectiveness and areas for improvement of entrepreneurship education targeted at university students in relation to the recent increase in youth unemployment, which has emerged as a pressing social issue. The research participants comprised 261 foodservice major students from domestic universities offering foodservice entrepreneurship education programs, all of whom had prior experience participating in such programs. An empirical analysis was conducted to investigate the impact of entrepreneurship education on opportunity recognition and entrepreneurial intention. The empirical analysis employed the SPSS 18.0 statistical package, utilizing frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The findings of the study are as follows: First, the quality of facilities, programs, instructors, and support services in entrepreneurship education positively influences opportunity recognition. Second, these same factors also positively affect entrepreneurial intention. Third, opportunity recognition is shown to positively impact entrepreneurial intention. This study is significant in that it reevaluates the social issue of youth unemployment and proposes solutions by examining the current state of entrepreneurship education in universities, thereby suggesting strategies to enhance youth entrepreneurship rates and improve the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education.
