지역특화산업육성사업의 성과 및 파급효과 분석: R&D사업을 중심으로

This study analyzed the performance and the ripple effects of the regional specialization industry fostering R&D project, a representative research and development project for local businesses. For this analysis, companies that received support from the regional specialization industry fostering R&D project from 2017 to 2021 were designated as the treatment group, while companies located in non-capital regions that did not receive support from this project were designated as the control group. To mitigate selection bias, a propensity score weighting regression model was used to estimate sales and employment performance. The analysis showed that companies receiving support from the regional specialization industry fostering R&D project had a positive effect on both employment and sales growth rates compared to companies that did not receive benefits. While there were regional differences, most regions showed positive effects on employment and sales growth rates, except for some regions. However, the ripple effects were not confirmed in most regions, as they did not show a positive impact on employment and sales growth rates, except in some regions. For the ripple effects of this project, it is deemed necessary to design policies that can promote various local industry policies, including talent development projects, in conjunction with each other.
