Space Internet can contribute to resolving the digital divide by providing high-speed Internet to these areas. It is also a countermeasure against natural disasters. Space Internet can be used as an emergency communication means when ground-based communication infrastructure is destroyed by natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes. This enables rapid relief activities and information transmission. There are also issues that make the development of space Internet difficult. The implementation of space Internet involves a high level of technological challenge. Various technical elements such as satellite launch, satellite-to-satellite communication, and ground gateway construction are intricately combined, and the lifespan of satellites is limited, so periodic replacement is also necessary. There is also the issue of economic costs. Establishing a space internet requires enormous costs, including satellite launch costs, ground infrastructure construction costs, and operating costs, so the initial investment cost is very high. In addition, legal issues are important. In order to provide space internet services, it is necessary to comply with each country’s frequency allocation and communication regulations, and international cooperation on space use is necessary. Environmental issues are also not light. The problem of space debris generated by thousands of satellites orbiting the Earth is serious. Space internet has great potential in various aspects, such as resolving the digital divide, responding to natural disasters, and commercial and military applications, so great development is expected. If space internet development is successful, it is expected to dramatically improve internet accessibility and be utilized in more diverse fields
