초록
This study aims to identify the qualities and virtues a modern leader should possess by applying the leadership shown in Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching to the contemporary theories of super leadership. As Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching was originally a work rooted in the diagnosis of the present world and the will to transform it, it will be a way to revive the essence of this work by combining it with modern leadership theories. This will be a significant task for leadership research based on philosophy of orient and will have many implications for modern leadership theory. The following research implications are derived from the analysis: First, leaders should be able to do nothing to reduce unnecessary control and supervision and create an environment that allows subordinates to maximize their abilities. Second, leaders should understand the different characteristics of their employees and strive to help them overcome their limitations and grow as self-leaders through constructive criticism and rewards. Third, leaders must be able to see the big picture and not get stuck in a small bubble. Fourth, leaders must have excellent self-awareness and use their subordinates' abilities to compensate for their shortcomings. Fifth, leaders should be compassionate and inclusive, deconstructing the dichotomous view of things and recognizing the different characteristics of each subordinate in order to lead them to their full potential.
