미백 효능과 생리활성 제재로서의 쑥(Artemisia princeps) 추출물 평가

Modern people living in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution are investing a lot of time and money as their interest in appearance and health care increases due to improved living standards. In particular, as both men and women invest in healthy skin care, the cosmetics industry, which includes whitening functions, is also developing and booming. However, since cosmetics made of artificial chemical ingredients on the market for modern people’s skin care expose large and small side effects, it is necessary to develop cosmetics made of natural ingredients to replace these disadvantages. Therefore, in this study, the whitening effect and basic antioxidant effect of mugwort (Artemisia princeps) extract were confirmed and evaluated as a bioactive agent. The experimental results of mugwort extract tyrosinase activity inhibition ability, ABTS radical removal ability, and FRAP activity evaluation showed a dependent increase at all concentrations. Through this study, we believe that it will be possible to lay the foundation for future research on antioxidant efficacy using mugwort by confirming the potential of mugwort extract as a natural cosmetic raw material that is very effective in whitening and as a bioactive agent that reduces oxidative stress.
