‘주변부 국가들의 탈달러화 현상’ 패러다임 전환인가? 패러다임 내의 변화인가?: 통화·금융영역에서의 탈세계화 경향에 대한 국제정치경제학적 분석

This article aims to analyze the deglobalization phenomenon that is occurring in the monetary and financial areas, focusing on the challenge to the dollar hegemony through dedollarization. Through this, the ultimate purpose of this article is to verify the validity of the claim that deglobalization has become a reality in the monetary and financial areas along with the end of the globalization era and the entry into the deglobalization era following the 2008 global financial crisis. To analyze this, this article first avoids a quantitative approach to the concept of (de)globalization through theoretical and methodological discussions, and introduce a qualitative approach as an analytical framework that reconstructs the concept (de)globalization as a 'politics' or 'hegemony' project. Afterwards, I will apply this analytical framework to the process of challenging the dollar hegemony through de-dollarization that emerged after the 2008 global financial crisis and analyze it to see whether the phenomenon of de-globalization in the monetary and financial areas is a reality or just an exaggerated myth. Through this analysis, in the conclusion, I would like to argue that the challenge to the dollar hegemony order through de-dollarization has little power to reverse globalization and lead to de-globalization, and that the claim that de-globalization in the monetary and financial areas is a reality is exaggerated.
