한·일 ESG진로교육의 내실화를 위한 고찰 -양국 설문조사 분석을 중심으로-

Government policies and a customized curriculum should guide career education, reflecting promising future jobs in line with current trends. ESG, a recent global trend, should be introduced to career education, which is public education, so that students can acquire basic capabilities that can help them grow into global talents in the energy transition era. Accordingly, when searching for ESG on the websites of central governments in Korea and Japan to see if ESG was reflected in career paths, employment, and policies, the results were ‘1 case in the Ministry of Education, 607 cases in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of Japan,’ and ‘255 cases in the Ministry of Employment and Labor, 631 cases in the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare of Japan.’. Since Japan has a high number of ESG searches, it was discussed as one of the various factors that will make Japan’s employment rate for those aged 15–64 higher in 2023, at 78.9% compared to Korea’s 69.2%, reflecting global issues in career education and policies. Since the survey did not mention the word ESG, in order to introduce ESG into career education or policy in a substantive manner, the questionnaire presented ESG-related job education and training as an example under the ‘education and training field.’ Japan also needs to supplement the survey that serves as the basis for establishing policies to keep up with the times. If government-wide ESG career education that is in line with global trends is implemented, it will bring us one step closer to full employment by creating new jobs according to demand.
