특허분석을 통한 AI 보안기술 동향 연구

초록
최근 산업 전반에서 AI 기술을 활용하면서 미래사회 변화와 발전을 주도하고 있다. 보안 업계에서도 AI 기술을 적극적으로 도입하고 있으며 주로 보안 위협 예측 및 해결에의 수단으로 활용하고 있다. 이러한 상황 속에서 본 연구는 AI 보안기술의 동향을 파악하기 위해 특허 데이터를 기반으로 분석을 수행하였다. 특허분석은 일반 동향 파악, 기술성장단계 분석, 주요 출원인 동향 파악, 집중률 지수 분석, 기술경쟁력 분석, 시장력 분석의 순으로 진행하였다. 특허 데이터는 한국(KIPO), 미국(USPTO), 중국(SIPO), 유럽(EPO), 일본(JPO)에서 총 2,013건을 수집하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 양적으로는 중국(SIPO)이 압도적으로 우수하였으며, 질적으로는 미국(USPTO)의 특허가 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한국(KIPO)의 경우 양적 및 질적인 면에서 모두 두각을 드러내지 못하였고, 향후 AI 보안기술에 대한 관심과 연구개발 수행에 힘써야 할 것으로 보인다. 본 연구는 AI 기술을 활용하여 보안 서비스를 개발하고 있거나 제공 중인 기업 및 기관에게 미래 연구개발 추진 방향성을 수립하는데 필요한 기초정보를 제공할 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
Recently, AI technology has been utilized across industries, leading to changes and developments in future society. The security industry is also actively adopting AI technology, and it is mainly used as a means of predicting and resolving security threats. In this situation, this study conducted an analysis based on patent data to identify trends in AI security technology. Patent analysis was conducted in the following order: general trend identification, technology growth stage analysis, major applicant trend identification, concentration index analysis, technology competitiveness analysis, and market power analysis. A total of 2,013 patent data were collected and analyzed from Korea (KIPO), the United States (USPTO), China (SIPO), Europe (EPO), and Japan (JPO). The analysis results showed that China (SIPO) was overwhelmingly superior in terms of quantity, and the United States (USPTO) had high-quality patents. Korea (KIPO) did not stand out in terms of both quantity and quality, and it seems that it will have to focus on interest in AI security technology and conduct research and development in the future. This study is expected to provide basic information necessary for establishing future research and development directions for companies and institutions that are developing or providing security services using AI technology.
