This study aims to analyze the impact of career orientation, network factors, and perception of government startup support programs on the entrepreneurial intention of the senior population, while also examining the moderating effect of resilience. As the senior generation approaches retirement, they face the challenge of a shrinking job market despite efforts to continue their careers. In response, senior entrepreneurship is emerging as a viable alternative. Given the increasing significance of senior entrepreneurship, this study investigates the key factors influencing senior entrepreneurial intention, focusing on career orientation and network factors, and examines the moderating role of resilience. To achieve this, a survey was conducted over a two-week period starting from September 10, 2024, targeting 273 adults aged 40 and above. The findings of this study are as follows: First, among the sub-factors of career orientation, management orientation, technology orientation, business orientation, stability orientation, and autonomy orientation, only management orientation had a significant positive effect on senior entrepreneurial intention. Second, both online and offline network factors had a significant impact on entrepreneurial intention. Third, perception of government startup support programs was found to have a significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. Fourth, resilience partially moderated the relationship between career orientation and entrepreneurial intention, whereas no moderating effect was observed in the relationships between network factors or perception of government startup support programs and entrepreneurial intention. This study suggests that career management and the utilization of online and offline networks are crucial factors in enhancing the likelihood of successful senior entrepreneurship. The findings provide a practical foundation for formulating senior-specific startup policies and support measures. In particular, to strengthen senior entrepreneurial intention, the study highlights the necessity of career transition support and the development of network platforms and policy infrastructure that enhance both online and offline interactions.
