Purpose - This study aims to examine the interrelationship, differences, and similarities between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, as well as how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ESG should be implemented in corporate management activities. Design/Methodology/Approach - By reviewing existing literature on CSR and ESG, this study explains the concept of CSR, presents the essence of ESG and its impact on business development, and finally explores the interrelationship between CSR and ESG. Findings – While CSR preceded ESG and was recognized for its value and importance, ESG now appears to be replacing CSR, leading to increased ESG-related investments. However, in terms of implementing sustainable development goals, CSR and ESG can be considered complementary, and the implementation of ESG appears to be more complex than that of CSR. Research Implications – In the future, ESG will naturally be integrated as a strategic initiative and business model. Therefore, companies should incorporate both concepts into their management activities by building an ESG profile through CSR programs. As sustainable growth becomes increasingly important, discussions on corporate social responsibility should not only address CSR and ESG but also include corporate sustainability (CS) as a key focus.
