초록

The evolution of Chinese tea culture is reflected not only in the material aspects of tea cultivation and processing but also in the diversity of institutional, ritual, and aesthetic dimensions. The development of tea culture spans various historical stages of Chinese society, influencing people’s lifestyles while shaping a unique system of tea utensils and spatial arrangements. As essential carriers of tea culture, tea utensils and tea furniture have evolved alongside changes in tea-drinking practices, forming distinctive design concepts and spatial layouts within different cultural contexts. Tea furniture serves not only a functional role but also embodies cultural symbols and symbolic meanings, elevating tea activities beyond mere dietary practices to expressions of social interaction, spiritual cultivation, and aesthetic pursuit. This study explores the characteristics of tea furniture from a cultural perspective, analyzing its cultural attributes and design logic to further reveal its significant role in shaping the tea-drinking environment. The findings indicate that tea furniture not only fulfills functional needs but also embodies Eastern philosophical thought, ritual culture, and spatial aesthetic concepts, providing important references for contemporary tea space design and innovations in tea culture.
