로보어드바이저의 퇴직연금 시장 활용: 계량서지분석과 사례분석을 중심으로

In 2024, discretionary robo-advisors for retirement pensions were designated as a financial innovation project, expected to stimulate the domestic robo-advisor industry and reshape retirement pension management. With low fees and volatility management capabilities, robo-advisors hold significant potential in this market. Given South Korea’s strict regulations on discretionary pension management, their introduction is likely to impact the domestic pension system. This study analyzes research trends on fintech and robo-advisors through bibliometric analysis and examines international cases of robo-advisor adoption in retirement pension markets. Based on these findings, it explores the potential effects and risks of introducing discretionary robo-advisors in Korea and proposes policy measures to mitigate these risks. The results suggest that while robo-advisors can enhance asset management efficiency through lower costs and broader accessibility, challenges such as algorithmic opacity and conflicts of interest must be addressed. Additionally, the development of the ETF market is crucial to support diversified investment strategies. We contribute to understanding the transformative potential of discretionary robo-advisors in Korea’s retirement pension market and provide insights for regulatory framework development.
