성수동 수제화 산업의 ESG 실천과 공간문화자산 불평등 해소에 관한 연구

초록
본 연구는 서울 성수동 수제화 산업의 ESG(Environmental, Social, Governance) 실천이 공간문화자산의 지속 가능성과 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 이를 10년간의 추이를 통해 수학적으로 모델링하는 것을 목표로 한다. 성수동 수제구두거리는 서울의 대표적인 전통 산업 지역으로 도시 재생과 문화 자산 활용을 통한 불평등 해소의 중요한 사례다. 전통, 혁신, 문화적 변화가 공존하는 공간이라는 관점에서 독특한 곳이다. 이에 이 거리의 공간문화자산 생애주기를 역사적으로 살펴보고 4단계로 제시했다. 본 연구는 성수동 수제화 산업의 지속 가능성을 높이기 위한 정책적･실천적 방안을 제시하며, 전통 산업이 ESG 요소를 효과적으로 적용할 경우 지속 가능한 발전이 가능함을 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였다. 이에 이 거리가 ‘공간문화자산’ 불평등 구조임을 밝혔으며 한국 산업화 역동기의 시대적 배경에 따른 재개발과 상업화의 영향을 받았다고 볼 수 있다. 전통 산업이 점차 축소되고 공간문화자산의 비대칭적으로 이루어지는 형태를 증명하였다. 시대 흐름을 고찰해볼 때, 과거에서 현재까지 공간문화자산의 불균형이 발생해 지역 고유의 정체성을 위협하는 주요 요인으로 작용하고 있다는 점을 알았다. 연구의 시사점으로는 ESG 실천의 확산을 촉진하는 정책적 지원의 필요성과, 산업 내 이해관계자 간 협력을 통한 지속 가능성 강화 방안을 제안하였다. 다만, 본 연구는 성수동 지역에 한정된 분석을 수행하였으며, 다른 지역 및 산업에 대한 일반화 가능성을 높이기 위해 추가적인 실증 연구가 필요하다. 향후 연구에서는 ESG 실천의 세부 지표를 보다 정교화하고, 다양한 산업과의 비교 분석을 통해 보다 일반화된 모델을 구축할 계획이다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of ESG(Environmental, Social, Governance) practices in the handmade shoe industry in Seongsu-dong, Seoul on the sustainability and performance of spatial cultural assets, and to model this mathematically through 10-year trends. It is a representative traditional industrial area in Seoul and an important example of resolving inequality through urban regeneration and cultural asset utilization. It is a unique place in terms of being a space where tradition, innovation, and cultural change coexist. Accordingly, the spatial cultural asset life cycle of this street was examined historically and presented in four stages. This study presents policy and practical measures to increase the sustainability of the handmade shoe industry in Seongsu-dong, and verifies through simulation that sustainable development is possible when traditional industries effectively apply ESG factors. This distance revealed that the ‘spatial cultural asset’ inequality structure, and it can be seen that it was affected by redevelopment and commercialization according to the historical background of the industrialization dynamics of Korea. It proved that traditional industries are gradually shrinking and spatial cultural assets are formed asymmetrically. When examining the flow of time, it was found that the imbalance of spatial cultural assets has occurred from the past to the present, and it is acting as a major factor threatening the unique identity of the region. The implications of the study include the need for policy support to promote the spread of ESG practices and measures to strengthen sustainability through cooperation between stakeholders within the industry. However, this study conducted an analysis limited to the Seongsu-dong area, and additional empirical research is needed to increase the generalizability to other regions and industries. In future studies, we plan to refine the detailed indicators of ESG practices and build a more generalized model through comparative analysis with various industries.
