초록
Raphanus Sativus is a herbal medicine used in traditional Indian and Chinese medicine to treat various illnesses. In this study, we evaluated the natural cosmetic potential of crude extracts from R. Sativus, focusing on anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tyrosinase, and anti-elastase properties. Our findings suggest that flower and leaf extracts of R. Sativus possess antioxidant effects, as confirmed by DPPH, ABTS radical scavenging, and total polyphenolic content assays. The flower and leaf extracts also strongly inhibited NO production and the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines in LPS-induced murine macrophage cell line RAW264.7 without inducing cytotoxicity. The root extract of R. Sativus showed inhibitory effects on neutrophil elastase enzyme activity. Moreover, the flower extract demonstrated potential for inhibiting in vitro cell-free mushroom tyrosinase activity in a concentration-dependent manner. These results indicate that different parts of R. Sativus offer distinct bioactive functions, making them suitable for multifunctional cosmetic formulations. Overall, the R. Sativus crude extracts showed promise as effective natural ingredients for cosmetic applications.
