We estimated the growth regression and population production function determining the growth rate of population for 9 countries and 19 countries panel data. In this study extending Kremer (1993) regression analysis, we used cointegrating analysis and ARDL that treat per capita income growth as a function of total population (growth) and knowledge as an independent variables that explain the induced relationship between population and income. The result shows that, in transition period, population growth decrease and the world economy stagnate. In additon, observed data imply the position of the world economy in the decreasing portion of population growth curve. So, the world population enter the stage of the modern sustanied growth. The causality does not run from population growth to income. We also surveyed methods used by many researchers such as Kremer (1993), Jones and Vollrath (2013) and Aghion and Howitt (2007). We conclude that in certain conditions, ideas are more significant in explaining economic growth expressed either by constant or coninous technological growth term.
