비선형 UX 설계 기반의 대학 UX 디자인 교육 모델 개발 및 적용 방안 연구

This study aims to analyze the current status of UX design education at major universities in Korea, identify the gap between the competencies required in practice, and suggest ways to improve the education system. To this end, we analyzed the gap between education and practice through literature and case studies, interviews with UX-related professors and practitioners, and surveys of trainees. After comparing UX education courses at Seoul National University, KAIST, Hongik University, Yonsei University, Sungkyunkwan University, and others, we found that Korean education is still focused on linear UX design methods and does not sufficiently reflect the latest technologies such as data-driven UX and AI-driven UX. In addition, there is a lack of training in emotional experience and meaning-centered UX design, which limits the ability to think user-centeredly and drive engagement. In practice, emotional responsiveness, understanding user context, and technology integration are becoming increasingly important and require educational responses. In this study, we proposed a 12-week, practice-oriented UX education curriculum that reflects the concept of non-linear UX design, which can be utilized as an alternative to strengthen complex problem-solving capabilities and practice connections. As an empirical model for connecting education and practice, this curriculum can contribute as a basis for designing a systematic educational framework for fostering UX professionals in the future.
