우리나라 자동차산업의 산업구조 및 수출의 경제적 파급효과 분석 연구

초록
본 논문은 우리나라의 대표적인 수출 산업인 자동차산업의 경제적 위상과 산업구조의 특성을 파악하고, 우리나라 자동차산업의 수출이 전체 국민경제에 미치는 경제적 파급효과를 정량적으로 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해서 본 연구는 산업연관분석 방법론을 활용하고, 한국은행에서 가장 최근에 공표한 2020년 실측표 산업연관표와 한국무역협회에서 제공되는 2021년부터 2023년까지에 대한 우리나라 자동차산업의 최신 수출통계를 이용하였다. 수요유도형 모형에 기초하여 자동차산업 수출의 생산유발효과, 부가가치유발효과, 취업유발효과를 분석하였다. 산업구조 분석 결과, 2020년 자동차산업의 부가가치율은 21.4%였고, 중간투입률을 78.6%로 나타났다. 이때, 중간투입률의 87.9%가 국산중간재로 나타났다. 이는 자동차산업의 생산활동에서 국산 중간재 파급효과가 크다는 것을 보여준다. 이어서 2020년 자동차산업의 하위 부문의 배분구조를 보면, 자동차와 특장차 및 트레일러의 생산물 중 99.7%와 97.4%가 최종수요로 소비된 반면에 자동차 부품의 생산물중 80.2%가 중간수요로 소비되었다. 다음으로 2021년부터 2023년의 기간 동안 발생한 우리나라 자동차산업의 수출은 경제 전체의 총산출을 814조 8천 2백 10억 원, 부가가치를 231조 4백 50억 원, 취업자를 208만 3천 9백 10명 유발시킨 것으로 분석되었다. 자동차산업의 수출에 의한 파급효과가큰 부문으로 자동차 부품, 자동차, 화학제품, 1차 금속제품, 전기장비, 금속가공제품 등의 제조업과도소매 및 상품중개서비스, 전문, 과학 및 기술 서비스, 금융 및 보험서비스, 운송서비스 등 서비스업부문을 들 수 있다. 지금까지의 내용을 종합할 때, 자동차산업의 수출은 자동차산업뿐만 아니라 국민경제 내 제조업 부문 및 서비스업 부문에 대한 높은 경제적 파급효과를 유발시킨다는 점에서 중요한역할을 수행한다.
Abstract
This paper aims to measure the economic importance and structural characteristics of the Korean automobile industry and to quantitatively analyze the economic effects of Korean automobile exports on the national economy. For this purpose, this study conducted an input-output analysis using the 2020 input-output table published by the Bank of Korea and the latest export statistics of the Korean automobile industry from 2021 to 2023 from the Korea International Trade Association. Based on a demand-driven model, this study explored the production- inducing effects, value-added creation effects, and employment-inducing effects of Korean automobile exports. From empirical results, between 2021 and 2023, Korean automobile exports generated KRW 814.821 trillion in economic output, KRW 231.045 trillion in value-added, and 2,083,910 jobs across the economy. Korean automobile exports played a significant role in generating economic impacts not only for the automobile industry itself, but also for the manufacturing and service sectors within the national economy.
