간호대학생의 문화적 역량에 미치는 영향요인

The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting the cultural competence of nursing students and to provide foundational data for developing multicultural education programs and curricula. Data were collected from 156 junior and senior nursing students at a university located in G Metropolitan City from September 21 to November 6, 2024. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 22.0 software and included descriptive statistics (frequency, mean, standard deviation), independent samples t-test, and one-way ANOVA. Pearson's correlation coefficients were calculated to explore relationships among variables, and multiple regression analysis was used to examine factors influencing the students' cultural competence. Multiple regression analysis revealed that multicultural social distance, multicultural stereotypes, negative multicultural emotions, and social desirability collectively explained 16.6% of the variance in cultural competence (F=7.102, p<.001). The findings suggest that reducing multicultural social distance, increasing the intention to participate in multicultural education, and understanding the role of social desirability are crucial for enhancing the cultural competence of nursing students. Therefore, it is necessary to develop strategies that mitigate prejudice toward multicultural groups and establish educational programs that provide students with accessible opportunities to engage with multicultural contexts.
