간호대학생을 위한 문화역량 강화 프로그램 적용 효과
The Effect of Cultural Competency Enhancement Program for Nursing Students

본 연구는 1개 간호대학에서 문화 다양성의 이해를 수강하는 간호대학생을 대상으로 문화역량 강화 프로그램을 적용하여 문화적 역량, 다문화 공감능력, 다문화 효능감에 미치는 효과를 확인하기 위해 시도된 단일군 전후 유사실험설계 연구이다. 연구 대상자는 이전에 다문화 교육을 받은 경험이 없는 간호학과 2학년 학생 60명으로, 자료수집은 2024년 3월부터 2024년 6월까지 자가보고식 설문지를 통해 실시하였다. 문화역량 강화 프로그램은 주 1회기 2시간씩, 총 12회기로 운영하였고, 프로그램 내용은 문화다양성 이해에 대한 기본과정과 다양한 다문화 사례 기반 팀활동을 수행하는 심화과정으로 구성하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 26.0을 이용하여 평균, 표준편차, 대응표본 T-검정으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 문화역량 강화 프로그램 교육 후 문화적 역량(t=6.61, p< .01), 다문화 효능감(t=3.20, p< .01)은 교육 전보다 통계적으로 유의하게 향상되었다. 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따라 일부 그룹에서 문화적 역량과 다문화 효능감이 유의하게 향상되었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 간호대학생의 문화적 역량, 문화적 공감능력, 다문화 효능감을 향상시시키기 위해 대상자의 다양한 특성을 고려한 통합적이고 체계적인 문화역량 강화 실습 프로그램을 개발하여 적용할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This study is conducted to examine the effects of a cultural competence enhancement program on cultural competence, multicultural empathy, and multicultural self-efficacy among nursing students. It was a pre- and post-test quasi-experimental design conducted with second-year nursing students at a single nursing college. The study participants consisted of 62 second-year nursing students who had not previously received multicultural education. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires from March to June 2024. The program was conducted weekly for 2 hours per session over 12 weeks. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 26.0, including mean, standard deviation, paired t-test. The results showed that after the cultural competence enhancement program, cultural competence (t=6.61, p< .01) and multicultural self-efficacy (t=3.20, p< .01) significantly improved compared to before the program. Cultural competence and multicultural efficacy were significantly improved in some groups based on the general characteristics of the subjects. Based on the findings, there is a need to develop an integrated and systematic cultural competence enhancement program that can improve cultural competence, multicultural empathy, and multicultural self-efficacy among nursing students using various teaching methods.
