This study aims to create creative upstyle works with various forms of ‘water’, a mysterious material of nature, and contribute to the development of original designs through this. Recently, in the beauty service industry, designs containing organic formative beauty and environmentally friendly messages by utilizing the morphological characteristics of water in hair art are emerging as original trends beyond fashion. Therefore, this study aims to inspire creative artistic sensibility and develop original hair design by leading the development of the future beauty industry, strengthening national competitiveness, and encouraging creative activities as a core area of beauty art to improve the capabilities of beauty workers. Through an in-depth analysis of various materials and symbolic meanings used in upstyle works, it can be seen that creative art senses and natural materials have a great impact on visual design development in the creative process. In particular, through the production of upstyle works using water shape images and natural images, the characteristics and forms of natural materials are reinterpreted from a modern perspective to be expressed as works. The symbolic meaning of water, which is used as a motif in various art works such as purification and regeneration, life and death, creation and nurturing of life, has been the object of imitation and creation for a long time in the art field, and has been the driving force to provide constant inspiration for the production of works. Four creative upstyle works were produced by applying upstyle techniques from a creative perspective to the various phenomena of water that maintain the dynamic shape and life of water, which are materials obtained from nature, and control the circulation of nature. By analyzing the production techniques for unique design in line with the modern trend sensibility of the water shape and image, it is intended to help the development of application techniques through creative upstyle production, and to help the academic understanding of creative upstyle design development of beauty industry workers and beauty-related education workers. Therefore, we believe that it is essential to continuously explore morphological images found in natural phenomena in combination with creative technology, and we hope that this will contribute to the development of beauty industry research and the improvement of competitiveness in up-style design research.
