전통 머리에 어울리는 헤어 장신구 개발 연구: 플라스틱 폐빨대 재활용 중심으로

In contemporary society, where individuals increasingly seek to express their identity through unique accessories, there is a growing interest in hair ornaments regarded as personal artworks and in demand for creative and original designs. This study aims to propose foundational data for revitalizing the development of innovative and distinctive hair ornaments by infusing artistic sensibility into discarded plastic straws—an everyday waste material—and trans- forming them into one-of-a-kind accessories suited for traditional hairstyles. To achieve this, four pieces were created using plastic straws as the primary material, complemented by wire, floral tape, scissors, glue guns, cotton swabs, and double-sided tape. The research revealed that prior studies predominantly focused on motifs such as hairpieces, traditional patterns, and art movements. However, this project successfully demonstrated that recycled straws—commonly regarded as environmental pollutants—can be repurposed into meaningful and aesthetically valuable hair ornaments. Moreover, the findings suggest that waste plastic straws can serve as viable materials for future ornament design. The significance of this research lies in its contribution to the creative development of sustainable and original hair accessories, and it encourages ongoing exploration of diverse recycled materials in accessory design.
