건설산업 지속가능성 주제 분석: GRI 기반 지속가능경영 보고서 및 학술논문 비교

This study compared how sustainability is addressed in the Korean construction industry from both practical and academic perspectives. It analyzed the topics that companies emphasize in practice and how these topics are studied in academia. For this purpose, sustainability reports published between 2015 and 2024 by four major Korean construction companies were analyzed. The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards were used as a framework to identify frequently reported topics. In parallel, academic journal articles on sustainability in the construction industry, published between 2014 and 2023 on the Web of Science and Scopus, were systematically reviewed. The study then compared the distribution of topics between corporate reports and academic research. This study sought to go beyond the limitations of previous studies that analyzed each domain separately or focused only on case-specific issues. It highlighted the perception gap between the two fields by examining whether the topics emphasized by companies are reflected in academic discourse and whether academic topics are considered important in practice. Through quantitative content analysis based on GRI standards, the study visualized the differences in topic emphasis and proposed how academic insights can support the development of sustainability strategies in construction companies.
