초록
With the motif of a sculpture with a long history and symbolism called ribbon, this study sought to explore and explore the possibilities of creative upstyle design that combines decoration and artistry. Unlike extracting the desired image by partially using decorative elements as a ribbon motif, research has not been conducted on the whole hair, so research is needed to create an upstyle design with an expanded area as a ribbon motif. The researcher produced four upstyles that applied the forms of bow ties, bow ribbons, frill ribbons, and lace ribbons, which are the most exposed and recognized by the public. The design elements were selected by shape and texture, and consisted of an intuitive design that considered volume and flow of curves. As a result of the production of the work, it was confirmed that the upstyles of the ribbon motif did not remain as aesthetic effects, but were expressed in various images depending on individuality and circumstances. Especially in styling on special days beyond daily life, the ribbon upstyles were possible as a powerful visual element that could convey both elegance and refinement, and the hair itself was used as a formative material to help expand the artistic realm of hair design by realizing creative formative beauty. The researcher selected shape and texture as design elements to produce intuitive works, but there were limitations as design elements because they did not reflect the symbolism of colors. Through future research, it is expected that the direction of more expanded beauty design can be presented by expanding the scope of use of upstyles based on ribbons, the motif of design elements that are well distributed in shape, texture, and color, by attempting to combine them with various cultural symbols or modern trends.
