신중년 여성의 학습경험에 관한 생애사 연구

Background: To improve the quality of life in old age, the previous stage, the new middle age, is important. The new middle age is as a generation preparing for old age, It is necessary to pay attention to the lifelong learning experience of the new middle age and explore the process of inner growth of the new middle age through learning experiences. Purpose: Exploring the learning experienced by the new middle age women learner in the course of their lives, and to examine their inner growth and the process of finding “being oneself” through their learning experiences and reflections, and to draw academic implications. Methodology: Among married women with children, among women with career breaks, among them select two the new middle age women learners who have transitioned occupation through lifelong education and achieved professional success, examined using the life history research method. Conclusions: Study participants grew through lifelong learning, there are living self-directed lives. As they inner growth and matured personally, finding “being oneself”, there was a positive effect on not only the study participants but also the family. Implications: This study is meaningful in contributing to rediscovering the meaning of lifelong learning in preparing for old age and providing implications for the inner growth of the new middle age women learners.
