디지털 네이티브 세대를 위한 UX 기반 인포테인먼트형 대학 도서관 공간 디자인 연구 – 충남지역 M대학교 스마트융합라운지 사례를 중심으로

This In the era of digital transformation, university libraries are evolving into multifunctional spaces that transcend traditional roles of information access. For digital native users—also characterized as Homo Connectus—libraries must not only provide information but also deliver immersive, enjoyable, and expressive experiences. This study explores how a redesigned university library can function as a UX-based public service space that integrates infotainment elements, focusing on the case of the Smart Convergence Lounge at Mokwon University. Adopting a mixed-methods approach, the research combines user surveys, field observations, and spatial analysis to examine how the redesigned space supports key user experience (UX) factors such as digital accessibility, spatial comfort, learning immersion, and emotional satisfaction. The study also identifies specific infotainment features—including media zones, creative production areas, and ambient design elements—that contribute to an engaging and responsive environment for digital-native learners. Findings suggest that the Smart Convergence Lounge aligns well with the behavioral and emotional expectations of Homo Connectus users. It facilitates active learning, social interaction, and digital content consumption, while also highlighting areas for improvement in terms of personalization and adaptive services. This study contributes practical implications for transforming university libraries into future-oriented, UX-driven public service environments.
