Visible light-responsive YVO4/U6M1/PES composite membrane for rapid dye degradation

Photocatalytic membranes are the most effective solution for dye wastewater treatment and membrane pollutionreduction, among them, how to improve the visible light responsiveness of photocatalytic membranes is the focusof research in this direction. In this paper, a novel Δ(Z + II)-type photocatalyst with visible light responsivenesswas prepared using YVO4-modified dual-precursorgraphitic carbon nitride (U6M1). The Nonsolvent InducePhase Separation (NIPS) was used to create the YVO4/U6M1/PES membrane, which gave the membrane photocatalyticcapacity. The efficiency of removing rhodamine B(RhB) reached 99 % within 120 min, and theseparation efficiency of Acid Red 18(AR-18) reached 95.1 % within 150 min. In addition, the membrane also hascertain self-cleaning capabilities and can maintain a separation efficiency of more than 89 % after 5 cycles. As agreen material, the composite membrane loaded with YVO4/U6M1 photocatalyst has great potential in thepractical application of dye wastewater treatment.
