초록
본 연구는 유니버설디자인을 기반으로 키오스크 디자인 수업을 진행하고 유니버설디자인 교육의 효과성을 분석하기 위하여 인터뷰를 진행하고 그 결과를 질적으로 분석하였다. 고등학교에 재학 중인 4명의 학생을 대상으로 총 6차시로 수업을 진행하였으며, 인터뷰 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지식과 이해 측면에서 학습자들은 유니버설디자인 교육을 통해 유니버설디자인에 대한 인식과 이해의 깊이를 크게 향상시켰음을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 과정과 기능 측면에서 유니버설디자인 7가지 원칙을 사용하여 키오스크의 문제를 단순히 인식하는 데 그치지 않고, 실제로 적용해 볼 만한 해결 방안을 구체적으로 제시할 수 있었다. 셋째, 가치와 태도 측면에서 키오스크가 아닌 일상의 다른 사례에서도 학습자들은 불편함을 더 주의 깊게 관찰하였고 이에 대한 문제 해결 방안을 적극적으로 제시하였다. 결론적으로 유니버설디자인에 입각한 키오스크 디자인 수업이 문제 해결 능력과 창의적인 사고 면에서 개선의 가능성이 관찰되었다.
Abstract
This study involved conducting a kiosk design class based on universal design, conducting interviews to analyze the effectiveness of universal design education, and analyzing the results qualitatively. The class was conducted over six sessions with four high school students, and results of the interview analysis are as follows. First, in terms of knowledge and understanding, it was confirmed that the learners greatly improved their awareness and depth of understanding of universal design through universal design education. Second, in terms of process and function, by using the seven principles of universal design, the students were able to present specific solutions that could be applied in practice, rather than simply recognizing the problems related to kiosks. Third, in terms of values and attitudes, the students more carefully observed inconveniences in other daily life scenarios, beyond just kiosks, and actively presented solutions to these problems. In conclusion, it was observed that the kiosk design class based on universal design has the potential to improve students’ problem-solving skills and creative thinking.
