마이데이터 활성화를 위한 개인정보 법제 개선방안

In Korea, MyData and MyData business have launched several years ago, but the data transaction market expected to be activated through MyData has a long way to go. In order to provoke MyData, it is necessary to improve the acceptance of MyData services by users (information subjects) and at the same time to improve the value of services provided by MyData service providers. In order to improve the service acceptance, users’ trust in MyData must be supported. Policies that expand the scope of MyData service providers’ concurrent and secondary businesses is not recommendable as it might damage both users’ trust in MyData service providers and their service acceptance. In addition, the Korean related legal system should be supplemented to enable users to effectively exercise their right to change or withdraw information so that they can easily control their personal information that they have already transmitted during the MyData service process. Lastly, data service providers should do their role to contribute to the data trading industry by fostering their own information analysis capabilities in the course of performing their main business, thereby improving the quality of services they provide to the users and distributing high-quality data to the data transaction market.
