AI Legal Status and Human Jobs DOI http://dx.doi.org/10.62783/SHSS.7.4.5 Suji Son* Abstract: The purpose of the study is to examine the impact of AI (artificial intelligence) on the labor market and the resulting legal issues, and to examine what changes the introduction of AI will bring to employment types, working conditions, and workers’ rights, and how these changes should be regulated legally, and in particular, to seek social and legal measures to address the emergence of new forms of employment related to AI. By analyzing existing studies and literature on the relationship between AI and the labor market, we identify the impact of AI on the labor market and derive related legal issues. In addition, we analyzed actual cases that occurred in various industries where AI was introduced, and examined the specific impact of major countries’ AI-related labor laws and policies on the labor market. In order to respond to changes in various forms of employment such as regular, non-regular, and freelance, that is, changes in the labor market, there are several major considerations from a legal perspective. We discuss Korea’s current legal system, legal and policy improvement measures due to the introduction of AI, and specific legal issues to protect workers’ rights and create a fair labor market. The introduction of AI has led to significant changes in employment patterns and working conditions, and new legal and policy responses are needed to address these issues. In particular, it has been suggested that legal mechanisms should be strengthened to protect workers’ rights and create a fair labor market.
