임신거부증에 대한 사회윤리적 분석과 성찰 : 생명의 환대와 사회적 책임

This study analyzed the phenomenon of denial of pregnancy, which has emerged as a social problem today, from a multifaceted perspective, including psychiatry, evolutionary biology, sociology, and women's studies, and reflected on social and ethical issues and institutional response measures based on this analysis. The research examines clinical classifications, differentiates denial of pregnancy from related concepts, and situates it within broader evolutionary and sociocultural contexts. Comparative analysis of Korean and international cases highlights the roles of social stigma and insufficient support systems, while recent policy developments in Korea, such as protected childbirth, are assessed as positive steps. Drawing on Hannah Arendt’s natality and Martha Nussbaum’s capabilities approach, the study frames denial of pregnancy as an issue of hospitality to life, human dignity and social responsibility. Ultimately, it argues that denial of pregnancy reflects not only individual pathology but also systemic societal shortcomings, calling for integrated medical, legal, and social support systems grounded in ethical practice.
