초록
This study aims to empirically explore strategies for enhancing golf course utilization through ESG management, thereby promoting the expansion of leisure activities. A two-stage qualitative research design was adopted. First, a literature review was conducted to identify existing ESG management practices in the golf industry, focusing on recent academic studies, policy documents, and industry reports. Second, in-depth interviews were conducted with six field experts, and the data were analyzed using thematic analysis to derive key themes and strategic implications. The analysis revealed that ESG management in golf courses can be effectively advanced through: environmental sustainability initiatives such as pesticide reduction and waste recycling, social contribution programs including local employment expansion and community engagement, and governance improvements focusing on price transparency and strengthened ethical management. Experts emphasized that reinforcing governance transparency and ethical practices positively shapes visitor perceptions, enhances trust, and encourages repeat visits. These findings suggest that continuous and integrated ESG management is essential for improving public perceptions of golf courses and for ensuring their long-term sustainability within the leisure industry. The study contributes practical insights for policymakers and golf course operators seeking to align operational strategies with ESG principles.
