The Impact of AI Accountability Governance Capability on Innovation Performance in Cross-border E-commerce Enterprises

본 연구는 인공지능(AI) 책임 거버넌스 역량이 글로벌 전자상거래기업의 디지털 전환 리스크 인식과 디지털 컴플라이언스를 매개로 하여 혁신성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 분석하고자 한다. 설문대상은 중국에 기반을 둔 296개의 글로벌 전자상거래기업으로 실시되었으며 구조방정식을 통해 연구모형을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 인공지능 책임 거버넌스 역량은 디지털 전환 리스크 인식과 디지털 컴플라이언스에 모두 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 두 변수는 혁신성과를 유의하게 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 기존 연구들이 AI 기술의 도입 효과나 리스크 요인에 국한되었던 반면, 본 연구는 조직 내부의 책임 거버넌스 역량을 중심으로 디지털 전환 전반의 인식과 규범 수용, 성과 창출 간의 구조적 경로를 통합적으로 검토하였다는 점에서 차별성을 지닌다. 이러한 결과는 디지털 시대 기업 경쟁력 확보를 위한 통합적 거버넌스 체계의 필요성을 강조하며, 기업의 정책 수립 및 조직 역량 강화를 위한 실무적 시사점을 제공한다.
Abstract
This study focuses on how AI accountability governance capabilities influence innovation performance in cross-border e-commerce enterprises, mediated by digital transformation risk perception and digital compliance. The survey was conducted among 296 cross-border e-commerce firms based in China, and the research model was tested using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that AI accountability governance capabilities have a significant positive effect on both digital transformation risk perception and digital compliance. Furthermore, both variables significantly mediate the relationship between AI governance capabilities and innovation performance. Unlike prior studies that mainly focused on the benefits or risks of AI adoption, this study differentiates itself by examining the internal governance capability as a strategic resource, and by providing an integrated framework that links risk perception, regulatory adaptation, and performance generation in the digital transformation process. These findings highlight the need for an integrated governance system to strengthen enterprise competitiveness in the digital era and offer practical implications for corporate policy development and organizational capability enhancement.
