본 연구는 성인 진로교육의 활성화와 실행력 제고를 위하여 지역 평생교육사의 인식을 실증적으로 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2024년 10월 경기도 31개 시·군에서 근무하는 평생교육사 30명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고, 수집된 자료를 분석하였다. 연구방법으로는 AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)를 활용하여 성인 진로교육 5대 핵심 영역의 상대적 중요도와 우선순위를 산출하였으며, IPA(Importance–Performance Analysis)를 통해 하위 항목별 중요도와 수행도를 비교·분석하였다. 분석 결과, 평생교육사는 ‘진로디자인과 준비’를 가장 중요한 영역으로 인식하였다. 중요도는 높으나 수행도가 낮은 중점개선 영역은 자기진단, 사회 변화 대응, 진로 실행 전략 등 실행력 강화를 요구하는 내용으로 나타났으며, 반대로 중요도는 낮으나 수행도가 높은 과잉투자 영역은 자기 성찰과 가치관 형성 중심의 콘텐츠가 주를 이루었다. 이러한 결과는 현재 성인 진로교육이 정서적·성찰적 접근에 치중되어 있음을 보여주며, 디지털 전환과 직무 변화에 대응할 수 있는 실행 중심의 교육과정 재구성이 필요함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 평생교육사의 인식 분석을 바탕으로 성인 학습자의 요구에 부합하는 실천적 진로교육과정 설계를 위한 기초 자료를 제공한다.
Abstract
This study aims to empirically analyze the perceptions of lifelong education practitioners in order to promote and enhance the effectiveness of adult career education. For this purpose, survey data were collected in October 2024 from 30 practitioners working in 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was employed to derive the relative importance and priority of five core domains of adult career education, and Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA) was applied to compare the perceived importance and performance of sub-items. The results revealed that practitioners perceived “career design and preparation” as the most critical domain. The high-importance but low-performance quadrant indicated areas such as self-assessment, adaptation to social changes, and strategies for career implementation, highlighting the need to strengthen practical competencies. Conversely, the low-importance but high-performance quadrant consisted mainly of content related to self-reflection and the formation of career values. These findings suggest that current adult career education is overly oriented toward emotional and reflective approaches, underscoring the necessity of reconstructing curricula toward practice-based learning that can respond to digital transformation and occupational changes. This study provides foundational insights for designing practical career education programs that align with the needs of adult learners, based on the perspectives of lifelong education practitioners.
