토픽 모델링으로 살펴본 디지털 전환 시대의 융합기술 연구 변화
Changes in Converging Technology Research in the Digital Transformation Era: A Topic Modeling Approach

정보통신기술의 발전과 디지털 전환의 가속화는 다양한 산업과 기술 간 경계를 허물며 융합기술의 확산을 촉진해 왔다. 특히 COVID-19 팬데믹은 비대면, 자동화, 지속가능성 요구를 강화하여 융합기술의 연구와 적용 범위를 급격히 확장했다. 본 연구의 목적은 최근 10년간(2015~2025) 융합기술 관련 학술연구의 주제 변화를 분석하고, 정보시스템 분야에서의 특성을 규명하는 것이다. 이를 위해 Web of Science 데이터베이스에서 485편의 논문 초록을 수집하고, 토픽 모델링을 수행하였다. 분석은 전체 융합기술 연구, COVID-19 이전, COVID-19 이후, 정보시스템 분야의 네 범주로 구분하여 진행하였다. 그 결과, 전체 융합기술 연구에서는 디지털 전환, 산업 융합, 지속가능 혁신, 응용기술 확산 등 8개 핵심 주제가 도출되었고, 팬데믹 이후에는 글로벌 협력, 환경·사회적 지속가능성, 디지털 회복탄력성 등 새로운 연구 의제가 부상하였다. 정보시스템 분야에서는 기술 확산과 기회 탐색, 지식 스필오버, 파괴적 혁신 등 조직, 산업, 사용자 관점이 복합적으로 논의되고 있었다. 이러한 결과는 융합기술 연구가 시기와 분야에 따라 구조적으로 변모하고 있음을 보여주며, 학문적 논의 확장과 정책적, 산업적 전략 수립을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.
Abstract
Advancement in information and communication technology (ICT) and the acceleration of digital transformation have blurred industry and technology boundaries, driving the spread of converging technologies. In particular, the COVID-19 pandemic has intensified demands for non-contact solutions, automation, and sustainability, rapidly expanding the scope of research and applications in the field. This study aims to analyze thematic changes in scholarly research on converging technologies over the past decade (2015~2025) and to identify their characteristics within the information systems domain. To this end, 485 article abstracts were collected from the Web of Science database, and topic modeling was conducted. The analysis was categorized into four groups: overall converging technology research, pre-COVID-19, post-COVID-19, and the information systems field. Results revealed eight core themes in overall research, including digital transformation, industrial convergence, sustainable innovation, and applied technology diffusion. Post-pandemic studies showed emerging agendas such as global collaboration, environmental and social sustainability, and digital resilience. In the information system domain, discussions encompassed technology diffusion and opportunity exploration, knowledge spillover, and technology research over time and across fields, providing a foundation for expanding academic discourse and guiding policy and industrial strategies.
